Shawn (he/him) is a director and producer of film and theatre. He has over 20 years of experience working professionally in Chicago, Los Angeles and Portland. In 2023, he produced the film American Outlaws which won Best Film at the 39th Boston Film Festival and had a global release on Apple TV. His short comedy film The Foodie recently premiered at the 2023 Burbank International Film Festival and the upcoming short film Every 85 Minutes (which talks about military veterans suffering from PTSD) will be played at multiple film festivals around the country. He is the creator of the true crime podcast Small Town Forgotten which is currently in production for a documentary film series. He is in his tenth season as the Producing Director at Artists Repertory Theatre, where he directed Christopher Chen’s Caught, a multi-media theatre/art installation and collaboration with Portland visual artist, Horatio Law. During the Covid pandemic shut down, he produced and co-directed the short film Better Maybe and the sand animated film Forget Me Not America. In addition to directing and producing for Artists Rep, Shawn oversees all video and podcast production and distribution for the theater company. Shawn is grateful to Jenny Stadler, Laura Loy and the PHAME team for the opportunity to share his passion for filmmaking with the students at PHAME.
