Severe Weather Policy

• If there is severe weather (snow, ice, severe heat, etc) or widespread power outages, PHAME follows Portland Public Schools (PPS). So if PPS closes, PHAME's campus closes, too.

•  If PPS announces a late start, or if PPS is closed on a day when PHAME holds classes, PHAME uses its best judgment when deciding whether to stay open or close.

• On some occasions it may be necessary for PHAME to close even if PPS remains open.

• Students will receive an email from PHAME by 9:15 AM if PHAME's campus is closed for the day.

• When PHAME's campus is closed due to severe weather, we do our best to move classes online. The email from PHAME will advise if classes are moving online, and if so, how to join them.

• If PHAME's campus is closed due to weather, we will add a banner to the top of our website. So if you're not sure if we're open or closed, that's a great place to check.

For the purposes of this policy, “campus” refers to any in-person location where PHAME programming is held.
