Tess Raunig (they/them) is a musician, actor, songwriter, and activist, originally from Missoula, Montana. They hold a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Montana. Tess started at PHAME, as a student, in 2018, and later that year they were hired as a Teaching Artist. They currently teach Vocal Studio, Songwriting, and they choral assist for Rock Ensemble and PHAME’s Community Choir. Since moving to Portland in 2013, they have performed with companies such as Artists Repertory Theatre, Oregon Children’s Theater, Disability Art and Culture Project, Oyster Shell Productions, Impetus Arts, and Genderbomb. Tess sings and plays keyboard in the Portland based theatrical folk pop band, Sasha and The Children.  You can listen to their debut EP at sashaandthechildren.com.  They are also a member of Acchord, an a'capella group comprised of transgender and non-binary folks. When they aren't teaching, acting, or playing music, Tess enjoys drinking tea, social justice activism, attending concerts and plays, and hanging out with their cat child, Sasha. And yes, the band is named after Sasha kitty.
